We will read the beginning of our chapter Identifying and Managing Emotions, from my book Reconnected-How To Be A Mentor To Your Child-Self. We will talk about the differences between Emotions and Feelings-  We will introduce this new discussion series and cover items such as defining emotions separately from feelings, defining and explain "Emotional Intelligence" (EQ), along with its benefits; explaining the physical and emotional effects of different emotions and feelings, and how we manage our emotions using and developing our EQ. We will know ourselves better, make better choices, apply "consequential thinking," evaluate and re-choose, motivate ourselves and choose optimism as our daily regiment. We will also learn to give of ourselves, develop empathy for others, learn how to pause before anger sets in, and use the analytical part of our brain which offsets the anger response, recognizing the signs of danger and protecting our peaceful state of mind.
