Call in to speak with the host
Many times we've heard the term, "keep it on the down low", which means keep it a secret. But the down low or DL has now referred to a new phrase, men who date women while secretly having sex with men. Anything that's kept a secret from the other party or the public can bring damages and repercussions, especially as it pertains to relationships. Would that be considered low down or the "can't help it syndrome?"
Why can't people simply be honest or truthful? Is it the fear of being discriminated against or experiencing rejection from others? If one is bold enough to live that way, why not "come out the closet for the sake of others involved?" Let them make the decision to stay or leave.
Hiding one’s non-heterosexual identity, relationships, or desires, and the bias against these components of sexuality, are obviously not new. On our last program, we talked about HIV and its effects especially us as a community.
When does the drama end? How can one tell if their partner is on the DL or simply low down? Regardless, we have to stop the spread of disease and it starts with us, it starts with YOU! Let's talk.
