As part of our continuing “Great Coaches in Great Places” series which highlights great coaching at all levels, Dave DeGeorge, the winningest coach in Beloit College Baseball history, recently visited the Real Sports Guys studio to discuss his team’s 2012 season, which included a conference championship game appearance, and to provide analysis on the College Baseball World Series (CWS) occuring in Omaha. Over the past few seasons, DeGeorge has led the Buccaneers’ to three conference tournament appearance, a division title, a conference title, and an appearance in the 2009 NCAA Tournament. The 2009 & 2011 Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association "Coach of the Year", who recently finished his 22nd season leading the Beloit College Baseball program, also discusses individuals who have influenced his coaching philosophy, how the “showcase” era in amateur baseball has influenced player development, and his recruiting philosophy.
