Legislative Issues Impacting Real Estate Investors

Real estate investors are being negatively impacted by new laws that are being passed every year.  A number of states have banned Lease Options and Subject To transactions.  States are also passing laws requiring  mandatory inspections of rental properties, as well as, limiting deposits, late fees and more.  These are only a few of the issues that we discussed today on Real Estate Reality Radio.

Steve Jordan, president of the Georgia Real Estate Investors Association Political Action Committee (GaREIA PAC), was our guest.  Steve has a long investing history and is extremely knowledgeable about the legislative issues brewing in today's market.   He shared a great deal of knowledge about the laws being passed, as well as, methods on how to get involved.

Georgia has been able to prevent many of these unfavorable laws from  being passed due to the fact that we have a Political Action Committee (PAC) and a lobbyist working on our behalf.  Steve talks about how a PAC works so if you're interested in having one in your state, listen!

PACs do require donations to survive, if you would like to donate to the GaREIA PAC, please, do so by sending a check to:

    GaREIA PAC Inc.
    3920 Peachtree Rd.
    Atlanta, GA 30341

PACs also raise money from fundraisers.  If you have a great idea for a fundraiser, please, post a comment here and let us know about your idea!

For more information on nationwide legislative and educational efforts, visit The National Association of Responsible Home Rebuilders and Investors (NARHRI) website at http://www.narhri.org/index.html.
