    THE WOUNDED HEALER

Being a believer does not exempt us from the realities of life. Pastor's, minister's, husband's, wives', father's, mother's, counselor's, or care giver's, are expected to minister to those who have wounds ...but many times we ignore our own wounds in the process. As the apostle Paul, wrote, "We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. (2 Cor. 4:8-9) We are the walking wounded, we are Wounded Healers.

Ninety to ninety-five percent of domestic violence victims are women, and many of these women are active members in their local churches. Yet it is a subject either misunderstood or ignored by the local church. It's time for roll call...where is the church? Vanessa Kinsey-Sisters Against Domestic Violence, Min. Holder Mathis-Real Issues Ministries, Evg. Cintsonia Gilstrap-VALOR Ministries.

SUICIDE: A Permanent Solution to Short Term Problems

Life is filled with great difficulties and challenges but there are also many solutions. The Christian life is one of hope and faith to meet life's challenges head on. The unfortunate and sad ending of an individual's life by his own hand does not nullify the effect of the grace of God in his life. Suicide victims who are children of God are redeemed souls in the presence of their Heavenly Father.
