On September 5th, the Ortanic Seed Growers and Trad Association (OSGATA) asked the US Supreme Court to hear their case against Monsanto. The petition is challenging the cemical and biotech seed company patents on genetically engenierred seed. OSGATA President Jim Gerritsen joins the program to discuss this landmark case, which is questioning the validity of Monsanto's seed patents. Gerritsen, who farms organically in northern Maine with his wife Megan, gives an informative and enlightening interview on the merits of this case, which also aims to protect farmers from liability if Monsanto's products invade their farmland.
