    A Path With Heart....

    A recent study of the human heart got me thinking about the type of career that sustains person’s interest and keeps them invigorated and felling alive. The study contradicts much of what we thought was true of the human heart. Scientists previously thought that regular, rhythmic hearts that beat as regularly as a metronome were the healthiest. This study found the opposite- that healthy human hearts have arrhythmic beats. That there are times when a healthy heart beat does not follow a rhythm. In fact a sign that it is healthy. These are signs that it is

    The same goes for your vocation in life. You can pick and choose a steady stable job, one that gives you a sense of security. It may have  good benefits and seems like it may be a "job for life" (whatever that may entail in the year 2050). The trouble with this is you get into the routine of comfort, and not challenging yourself, and your days become bring, predictable, and unfullfiling. You look to other ways to make you feel alive, while dreading the time you spend at work. It is not uncommon in our society today.

    However, a challenging, fulfilling vocation, where you put your skills to good use and you make a contribution to the community around you will be able to sustain you. There will be ups and downs, times when things go well and times when things go not so well. But, a vocation of this type will ensure that you are fully engaged in your work. It will be constantly exciting, challenging and you will be able to use your creativity. A vocation like this will sustain you both physically and mentally..allowing you to have the true experience of being fully alive not just when you are 25, but when you are 35, 45, 55 and beyond...
