Look Alive started writing poetry at the age of eight as a hobby and had numerous poems published in many literary magazines. After losing everything but her rhyme book and a few CD’s in Hurricane Katrina she realized it was time for the world to hear her story. Look Alive’s musical inspiration comes from her New Orleans traditional jazz, classical, soul, and blues sound. Her style has been compared to artist like Lauryn Hill, Nas, Mc Lyte and Jay Z. 

In 2011 Look Alive released one of the hottest mix tapes on the hip-hop scene titled The Awakening. In 2012 she earned the lead role as “Rae” in the award winning Web Series Between Women, which earned her thousands of new fans, and making her one of the hottest sought after LGBT Artist in the United States. She has made guest appearances at hundreds of clubs and hosted PRIDE events all over the country and abroad. She is definitely one to Watch!!!"
