RAWSISTAZ
United States, English
RAWSISTAZ Literary Group (www.rawsistaz.com) was started in 2000 and supports and promotes African-American authors and their work. RAWSISTAZ offers free services for authors and publishers to share information about their books, as well as a place for readers to find out about the latest (and older) book reviews, new releases, author spotlights and more. RAWSISTAZ has received numerous awards and recognition, one of which is Writers Digest 2006 Top Sites for Writers. They have a review team, The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers (TRR), which is one of (if not the first) organizations formed to review the work of African-American authors. They reviewed over 700 reviews in 2007, putting them at over 4500 reviews completed in their 7 year history. Visit the book review repository at www.blackbookreviews.net. Lastly, RAWSISTAZ has local chapters across the United States (RAWSISTAZ Live), an online book club (RAWSISTAZ Online Book Club), and an online literary hang-out (RAW4ALL). Combined, the groups represent 500+ readers, writers, and literary professionals. They also have an annual conference for readers and writers, called The RAWSISTAZ Affair, which has been held for the past 6 years. The 2008 event will be held in Chicago the first weekend of October. Since inception, RAWSISTAZ has been a leader and innovator in supporting African-American literature and is a major resource for readers, writers, and literary enthusiasts. Visit on the web at www.rawsistaz.com and on MySpace at www.myspace.com/rawsistaz.
