Emo? Did you mean Elmo? Uh no, I get it - Emo! What the??!!??

    Got kids?

I swear this one is something of hilarious humor and reckless seriousness that we are going to talk about tonight. This is not the only 'group' of kids these days but definitely one of the rising and as you can see, noticeable. Ever wonder about the 'Emo' crew? Don't let your child continue on without hearing our show tonight. Watch this funny take on Emo by Hope Is Emo she actually has a site of her own because this gets SO much attention. Here is the humurous side of a darker world. You can giggle with her at http://www.hopeisemo.com and then you can come back to our show tonight and find out what Emo looks like without the humor added. See you there! Don't be Emo!

And of course you have to find an 'Authority' site if you are anything like most of us parents on What the Freak is Emo anyway??? And why is it such a dark magnet for so many.

Hmmm take a look at this website.

Before you go there, I have to warn you there are somethings that might be offensive to some. Emo's don't have any issue with language and often times sexuality or the confusion thereof. With that said here ya' go: http://www.fourfa.com/

Here is one from the kid side: How To Dress Emo

The infamous 'points system' for defining how Emo you truly are - this is scary:

For us parents there's always the good ol' Wikipedia to help get us up to speed. Got some basics for ya' - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emo_poetry

It has gems like this in it just so you know. "

    Past emo trends

Emo fashion has changed with time; early trends included haircuts similar to those worn by the Romulans and Vulcans in Star Trek, tightly fitting sweaters, button-down shirts, and work jackets (often called gas station jackets). These trends are not as popular in the emo scene anymore."

BAAAAAHahahahhahahahHAHAHAHAHA What????????!! Truly spoken by someone that wears tape on their glasses and not someone who has dealt with Emo.....ROFLMBO!!!!!!

Other things of steralized definitions are:

    Personality

When referring to a person's personality and attitude, most definitions of emo hold that an "emo person" is candid about their emotions, sensitive, shy, introverted, broken-hearted, glum, and often quiet.

    Poetry

Emo personality is also often connected with writing poetry, which addresses confusion, depression, loneliness, and anger, all resulting from the world's inability to understand the author. Emo poetry uses a combination of any of: a highly emotional tone, stream of consciousness writing, a simple (ABAB) or nonexistent rhyme scheme, references to the flesh, especially the heart, heavy use of dark or depressing adjectives, concern over the mutability of time and/or love, and disregard for punctuation, grammar, and/or spelling. Themes such as life is pain are common.

    Self-harm and emo

Some definitions of emo hold that typical "emo persons" are likely to inflict self-injury, most often by means of cutting, burning, or otherwise mutilating themselves. The theme of self-injury is also common in emo poetry.
