Listen
Then He said, "Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord." And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.- I Kings 19:11-12
Most of us know someone who seems to talk about 100 miles a minute. And if you have a conversation with them, they never seem to stop and listen to what you are saying. Have you ever tired to communicate with someone like that? They continue to express their needs and wants, but fail to listen to your instructions. You find yourself either repeating what you said or becoming frustrated and you stop communicating all together. Ever wonder how God feels about that? Listen.
Some of us spend time in prayer in a monologue to God rather than a dialogue with Him. After we pray for this and we pray for that, we pray about her and we pray about him. We finish up with a little worship and we are done. Are we taking the time to listen? What is the Lord speaking to your heart? What instruction is the Lord giving you for your life? What strategy does He desire for you to implement that will cause your situation to minimize and Him to maximize? Listen.
God desires to communicate with us. He is not a genie in a bottle waiting to grant you every wish or command. He desires to be close to you and have a relationship with you. Some of the tough experiences you are having in life are not mistakes. He has tried to communicate with you and you have refused to listen. God is using the strong wind, the earthquake and the fire to get your attention. Now...listen.
Let's Listen
Lord, we receive your voice and your word in our lives today. Amen.
Be healed...be delivered...be set free,

Perfecting Us
For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.- Philippians 1:6Getting that house was a little struggle, but paying the mortgage is a battle. Getting her to marry you wasn't easy, but keeping her for life seems too hard to bear. Getting interviewed for the job was cake, but now you have to show up for work every day!Obtaining salvation. Now that's easy. It's as simple as acknowledgement and confession. In this Christian walk, the initial 'yes' to Christ often came easy for some of us. We surrendered our lives out of desperation or excitement and even sometimes out of fear. For some of us, there was no mapped out plan of salvation, just the unction to think like Nike and "just do it". We obtained the gift of salvation. Now we need to maintain it. Living a consistent Christian lifestyle is not necessarily an easy goal, but with the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we can maintain one. It may look overwhelming right now and you may want to say, "forget it&#xu201D;. Don't. Your life may be filled with the results of mistakes and bad choices, but don't make another one by giving up on God.
Remember what Paul says in Philippians 1:6, God is perfecting the good work He put inside of you. You started this journey and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you can finish the race. Be confident in knowing that what God started in your life, He is committed to perform!
Let's Pray!
Father, we thank you for the strength to endure. We thank you, Lord for the peace that surpasses all our understanding that guards our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. The peace that what you started in us you will not leave undone, unfinished and incomplete. Lord, we thank you that your promises are yea and amen and we stand on your Word today. We cast doubt, unbelief and fear to the pit and we activate the faith you so graciously imparted to us. In the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
