Can a person reject the salvation they once received? Is salvation something from which you can walk away? Are we saved and sure?

Today on Ask the Theologian, Dr. Randy White speaks about the issue of Eternal Security, studying 1 John 5:18 and other passages of Scripture.  1 John 5:18 says, "Whoever is born of God does not sin." Does this mean that if you sin you are not "born of God?"
