Many myths and misconceptions about hypnosis exist due to stereotypical portrayals in movies, on television, and by performers who have used it as a means to entertain their audiences.  Many people who have yet to experience hypnosis for themselves are fearful that they might act unwillingly under its spell or succumb to some kind of mind control while in an unconscious state.

Contrary to popular belief, the hypnotic state is not one of sleep or unconsciousness, but a state of being fully awake and in a heightened state of concentration. Though the power of suggestion is used in a state where the person is more easily open to it, the person remains in full control at all times of what they will and will not accept.

Hypnosis is a highly effective, safe therapeutic tool, often used in conjunction with psychotherapy, that can effectively promote desired behavioral changes, enable people to change their perceptions, and free undesired subconscious blockages.

Today's special guest, Donald Currie has been using leading edge clinical hypnosis techniques in his private practice since 2002. He is passionate about guiding others on their journeys of self discovery and change. By accessing higher levels of information, knowledge and wisdom within the subconscious mind, he helps individuals restore harmony, balance and alignment in their life.

Donald is with us today to explain what hypnosis is and what it is not, teach us how the subconscious mind works, and enlighten us about the ways in which hypnosis can help each of us achieve the life we desire.
