Welcome to Radio G Spot Live and your co-hosts Kevin and Kieran Ramsey. We are excited to bring you our first radio blogcast segment entitled, “Fire On The Bayou – A Look Back At Katrina.”

On Friday, January 4, 2013 Congress finally approved a 9.7 billion package to pay flood insurance claims from Hurricane Sandy. The measure was supposed to come to a vote earlier in the week, but was tabled by House Speaker John Boehner. The measure passed unanimously through the Senate, but 67 members of the House of Representatives voted "no" to assisting people who were left, at best, powerless or homeless by a hurricane in November. All 67 are Republicans.

After hearing about this vote and remembering the recent devastation cause by Hurricane Sandy we were motivated to go to New Orleans and talk with a few people who share their stories on the wrath known as Hurricane Katrina.
