  The Queenz of Media is privileged to announce the appearance of one of the most influential Trans Women in America on our show February The 26th at 12:30 AM est, 9:30 PM pst. Andrea James is a writer, director, producer, and activist. She earned an M.A in English from the University of Chicago, then wrote ads for ten years at top Chicago agencies. She authored tsroadmap.com, a how-to guide for transgender people, and hairfacts.com, a guide to hair removal. In 2003, she co-founded Deep Stealth Productions with Calpernia Addams, creating numerous instructional videos. Their first all-transgender performance of The Vagina Monologues was featured in the documentary "Beautiful Daughters." Andrea consulted with Felicity Huffman and is the opening shot of the 2005 film "Transamerica." Andrea also directed the 2007 short "Casting Pearls," which was a winner of Logo's Season 4 "Click List: Best in Short Film."

  Calpernia Addams came to international Fame when the GOLDEN GLOBE AWARD WINNING movie "Soldier's Girl" was released in 2003 to rave reviews! The movie depicts the tragic real live Love Story of Caplernia, and Army PFC Barry Winchell, who was murdered by fellow soldiers when word of their romance spread through the army base. Since this tragic event Calpernia has been blazing trials on behalf on the Transsexual community Becoming a leading Activist and co-founding DEEP STEALTH PRODUCTIONS with business partner Andrea James. DEEP STEALTH PRODUCTIONS produces Films and Educational material on behalf of the trans community and has won many awards for their efforts. Under the mentorship of Jane Fonda, Calpernia wrote and produced an all trans cast to perform a trans based version of "THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES" featured in a 2006 documentary film called "Beautiful Daughters".   Transsexuals & Hormones the Legends,Myth & Tales Behind Them

  Transgender 101 Hormones The bulk of what's done in the transsexual transitional process is actually done through hormone treatments. This is suprising to a lot of people, since what usually hits the media is sex reassignment surgery. Hormones do the bulk of the changes in the physical body. They are very powerful, and a little hormone can go a long way. Hormones have profound effects on the body, some permanent, and some reversable. Either way, they are not something that are taken lightly. There are many factors to consider before making the choice to start them or not. Many people don't even know the effects of hormones on the body, and those that do may have a glamourized image painted in their mind. This segment covers the effects of hormones on the body. Hormonal therapy for transgender people There are already fantastic resources on this topic available. Here's the basics, in my opinion: 1. They are not a magic pill. You won't "become a woman" taking them. 2. I think of hormonal-induced changes as generally quite subtle, taking several years. 3. Do not depend on them alone to make you accepted by others as female, because they will not. 4. They will not reduce facial hair much, if at all. 5. They will not change your voice. 6. They will have an effect on body hair eventually (especially androgen blockers). 7. Androgen blockers can help reduce doses of hormones needed. 8. Androgen blockers are useful for halting scalp hair loss. 9. You will see changes in your complexion and fat redistribution. 10. Injectable hormones seemed to be more effective in my case, compared to oral estrogens. 11. They had a wonderful calming effect for me and took the edge off my sex drive. 12. You can hide the effects of hormones from others for as long as you want in virtually every case. Those who say they can't seem to want people to notice. 13. Hormones are potentially dangerous.
