Abiah comes from a family of talent spent his childhood with his single mother, an accomplished musician who accompanied the late operatic Baritone William Warfield in earlier years.  She introduced him to the singers who would become Abiah’s influences: Sarah Vaughn, Anita Baker and later Nina Simone. His cousin is Robert Glasper who is a jazz pianist and record producer. Abiah aka to some as Jeremiah since his 2006 debut, Chasing Forever, served as an announcement of his undeniable aptitude, then this latest collection reinforces his place among past and present performers as a connoisseur of the craft. Supple and soothing, Abiah has certainly achieved success on that front. The new CD, Life as a Ballad, has brought the talents of Abiah back full circle. So it’s no wonder the unique qualities of this amazing performer the title of his CD is well suited Life as a Ballad. Call and talk with Abiah and share in his journey at 646-478-5157
