John Milton is a pioneering spiritual teacher, meditation master, Qigong and Tai Chi teacher, Vision Quest leader and Shaman. His Vision Quests and Shamanic studies began in the 1940's. His training in Buddhist and Taoist meditations began in the late 1950's. Since the 1950's, thousands of people have sought his powerful yet gentle Qigong, T'ai Chi and meditation instruction, Sacred Passage™ programs and Vision Quest guidance. In addition, for over 30 years John has taught Tai Chi and Qigong through his Way of Nature Fellowship and Golden Flower school. John also created a unique system of sacred movement called "GaiaFlow," based on the creative incorporation of core principles from Taoism and Qigong, Shamanism and traditional peoples’ ways of movement and energy cultivation, Tibetan Dzogchen, Buddhist and Hindu Tantras.John is a former professor of environmental studies and Woodrow Wilson Center scholar at the Smithsonian. He also helped birth the environmental movement in the early 1960's. He was one of the first ecologists ever on staff at the White House as a member of the President's Council of Economic advisors. Drawing upon his meditation and Qiqong practices, John developed a unique Awareness Training process based on his essentialization of twelve core Principles of Natural Liberation. Buddhist, Dzogchen, Taoist, Tantric, Vedantic and Shamanic traditions are magically integrated, merging powerful practices for uniting inner and outer nature.John is the author of many books on inner development and ecology. He is the founder of Sacred Passage™ and The Way of Nature Fellowship. HE also established Threshold, a foundation devoted to spiritual liberation in Great Nature. He and his guides offer Sacred Passage Awareness Trainings and wilderness solo experiences year round for individuals and groups.
