Joell Ortiz , is a Puerto Rican-American Hip-Hop artist/producer from Brooklyn, New York. Though signed to Aftermath, Ortiz released an album titled The Brick (Bodega Chronicles) April 24, 2007 on Koch Records. The Brick features production by Showbiz and The Alchemist, among others. Guest artists include rappers Big Daddy Kane, Styles P, Big Noyd, Akon, Immortal Technique, Grafh, and Ras Kass. Departure from Aftermath and joining Slaughterhouse Ortiz parted ways with Aftermath Records on April 15, 2008. Joell Ortiz along with Joe Budden, Royce Da 5'9", and Crooked I formed the Hip-Hop supergroup Slaughterhouse. Joell makes two appearances on the Royce Da 5'9" album Street Hop, alongside the other members of Slaughterhouse. Crooked I and Joe Budden A remix of Joell Ortiz' "Hiphop" featuring Jadakiss and Saigon appeared on a fictive urban radio station in the popular videogame GTA IV.
