Predators game ops afficionado Ron Zolkower joined the program to discuss his game day duties, give a little background on his job, but most importantly, he shared information about an upcoming event.

Ron has been diabetic since he was 2 years old. After 27 years, he's lost the ability to tell when his blood sugar is too high or too low, which has led his family to seek alternate methods of prevention.

Ears, Eyes, Nose and Paws is an organization in North Carolina that trains both Service Dogs and Diabetic Assistance Dogs.  Per EENP's website, "Diabetic Assistance Dogs use their noses to assist individuals with diabetes by detecting fluctuating blood sugar levels and alerting their handlers to these changes, preventing hypoglycemic comas and helping diabetic individuals to better regulate blood sugar levels. Diabetic Assistance Dogs can rouse a sleeping handler or, if needed, alert another person to the medical emergency."

Ron has been matched up with a dog from this program, but it isn't free and it isn't cheap. Thus, Ron's "hockey family" is coming together to help him bring home the companion who could potentially save his life.

Next Wednesday, May 30, at 6:00pm, Sixwire, Small Time Rock Stars, Danielle Lauderdale and Teea Goans will be performing a show at Nashville's Tin Roof to benefit Ron. Suggested donation for admission is $5.

If you can't make it out to the event, you can still donate. Just click here.

After Ron, Hockey Night in Nashville's Robby Stanley stopped by to discuss the Los Angeles Kings, give his Stanley Cup Pick...and most importantly, tell everyone which Avenger the Kings best resemble.
