Security certifications bring new UC technologies to secure defense networks

Polycom recently announced that two of its unified communications products - VVX Business Media Phone and the CX8000 room system - have received certifications to be listed on DISA’s Unified Communications Approved Product List (UC APL).  These solutions also completed testing with Microsoft Lync 2013.

To discuss the military use cases for these technologies, the relationship between Microsoft and Polycom, and what that relationship means for the military, we sat down to talk with Robert Birch, the Microsoft Alliance Manager for Public Sector at Polycom.

During our conversation, Robert discussed what the JITC certification process involves and what certification means. He also shared insights into how these technologies can help empower a more connected and collaborative warfighter.
