Self-advocacy plays an important role In the fight to control PTSI's negatives in the lives of survivors. Those suffering with PTSI are part of the treatment team, and when a suggested treatment is not right, they have the right to speak up. When survivors describe what they deal with, it helps others with PTSI, who are trying to understand, be able to identify. It also helps those without PTSD learn and better help their loved-ones who suffer. Christopher will be addressing his self-advocacy, starting with the terminology of PTSI rather than PTSD and the reasons for this preference. Christopher will also discuss with Tim Grutzius, tonight's host, his symptoms, fears, his advocating for others, and the importance of participation in a group with like-minded PTSI survivors. Please feel free to call in and add your personal story to the discussion. It is important that we explore both similarities and differences, and also present alternative paths to successful self-advocacy.
