  Coqui Mexicano offers a Puerto Rican and Mexican mix in the Bronx
  

  PRSUN Radio's guest at 9 p.m. tomorrow August 20 are the entrepreneurs behind Coqui Mexicano, a new restaurant and cultural spot in the South Bronx.

  is a jibaro style Mom & Pop shop (as well as residents of the hood), still luchando with all our might to get on our feet. 
  
  They serve tacos, tortas, cubanos, ensalada de pulpo, ensalada de chayote, various fresh homestyle desserts such as budin, coconetes, bizcochitos de guayaba y queso, tembleque & flan. They make empanadas de yuca to order. The menu is limited but Coqui Mexicano's focus is on fresh HOMESTYLE latino food and atmosphere (check out the online menu & other links @ www.letseat.at/CoquiMexicano ). Currently, the shop has more Mexican food than Puerto Rican and offers a few typical groceries of a bodega for purchase as well.
  
  There is also artesania for purchase in an effort to proudly support our peoples in any small way, the entrepreneurs say. Coqui Mexicano encourages local artists & organizations to use the business to promote their events (such as the Bronx Defenders and most recently local artist Luis Pagan).
