Hard to say. May have been someone in the picture moving quickly. I have had several photos like this. Sometimes only the top part of the person is visible. I don't know if this is a digital camera quirk. I'm not saying that's the only explanation, of course. If the person who took the picture says no one else was there, then maybe it is a shadow person.
