Queen of the Desert: A Fierce Drag Competition in Palm Springs!

Nicholas Snow welcomes Steve Kaufer, Desert AIDS Project Board Member, and Co-Chair of the 2016 Queen of the Desert Competition.

Jazmyn Simone-Echelon will come to the 3rd Annual Queen of the Desert stage on Wednesday, June 1 at the Renaissance Palm Springs to defend her lip-sync competition crown against Trixie Garnett, Tommie Rose, Pinkie Meringue Shimmer, Anita Rose, Mystic Befierce Miller, and Sheena Wolfe.

Of course, the crown will ultimately be decided by the judging panel of Gypsy of Carnival Cabaret, Dottie DuBois and Maude Chapeau of Les Dames du Soleil and Delta Work (season 3 of smash TV show “RuPaul’s Drag Race”), based on the comedic and high-energy routines performed by each contestant. Ethylina Canne, voted Fan Favorite in the first competition in 2014, will keep the action moving along, as she returns for a second year as the show emcee, ably assisted by Bella da Ball as “voice of goddess” and Diva Pledge announcer.
