After several requests on ways we can help Teens cope and learn about Domestic Violence, this show is dedicated to them. Joining me is Sarah Sena, Nicole Reis and Danny Hanson. Sarah Sena is the Community Program Director at Eastside Domestic Violence Program (EDVP) in Bellevue, Washington. In her role with EDVP, she oversees advocacy services to survivors of domestic violence such as crisis line, advocacy-based counseling, support groups, legal advocacy, and children’s advocacy. Nicole Reis is a youth and community advocate for Eastside Domestic Violence Program (EDVP). She has been working at EDVP for two years, but has been in the domestic violence field for the last seven years. She currently runs a teen support group called VOICES for youth that have experience violence in their homes. Nicole also goes around to middle schools, high schools and colleges and talks about dating violence, gender roles, bullying with school systems, and other violence prevention educational needs. http://www.edvp.org/ Danny Hanson, Violence Prevention Coordinator and Counselor for Youth Eastside Services. Danny has worked for six years with youth and their families in a variety of settings both in Chicago and in the Seattle area. Currently Danny works in the schools to bring anti-violence trainings focusing on, bullying, anti-oppression, dating violence, anger management and power and control. Danny also facilitates anger management groups for youth and is able to provide specialized trainings for parents and educators. http://www.youtheastsideservices.org/
