Why don't people support artist in their own backyard?

We were sitting around talking the other day and we asked ourselves why don’t people support artist in their own backyard. We wanted to know why is it like this. We were thinking is it because the media meaning radio and television aren’t behind the artist is the reason that the people aren’t behind them or is it something more complex than what we here @ Profit Entertainment are thinking about on the surface. We got to talking back and forth about it and at first glance of common sense you would think people would come out more and support their artist in their area for the following reasons:  They are much more personable, they appreciate their supporters more, they have great giveaways for their supporters and they don’t put themselves on a pedastool like some of your more famous artist. You would think that people would like to get behind those that act more down to earth and humble like themselves but instead they buy records/downloads and merchandise from the artist who don’t give a crap about them, the same artist that don’t even bother to take the time out of their day to say thank you or sign an autograph. When you purchase their songs and you press play and listen they first thing you hear is how they brag about all the money and riches they got which was mainly off the sweat and tears of the supporters who got behind them, We think it is kind of ironic how they seem to forget about the one’s who helped them get to where they are @ as they move up in fame. We use the word supporters instead of fans because we feel that word undervalues the true meaning and support that each individual means to us as an artist or as promoters. We here @ Profit Entertainment are working hard to change the music scene in the Inland Empire and Southern California thanks to everyone who has been to our shows or plan on going to shows and we appreciate you watching our videos. There will be plenty of videos for you to watch this year just look out for them.
