Probably Uncalled For...

Why Talk Radio Was Invented. Hosted by author/syndicated columnist Dr. Thomas Keister and "The Internet Legend," ppdingles, the show takes an often cynical look at the best, the worst, and the least damn surprising of the week you're amazed you've only made it halfway through. Current events, politics, entertainment, pop culture, we discuss all the crap getting beamed into space to state the case we're an intelligent species. Yeah...we're boned...

ppdingles' Summer Movie Preview and Guide...What to go see and what to run away from! Part 1

2007 was the Summer of the Sequel and while 2008 has a few sequels in it, it also has some old names getting back in the spotlight, some redo's if you will and of course the ones you need to wear a rubber whenever they are near....

I will break this down into 4 categories....
    ACTION/THRILLER..COMEDY..FAMILY..and SCI-FI/HORROR
and the top 5 I think you should see out of each category.

    ACTION/THRILLER

    'The Incredible Hulk'
I will go and see this one and I suggest you do as well. The last "HULK" movie was bad, not real bad but bad nonetheless. And with Edward Norton playing Bruce Banner/Hulk and a nasty new villain to fight which looks absolutely awesome this version should have no trouble becoming a box office hit this summer.

    'The Dark Knight'
I am a huge Batman fan and this one has been on my "must see list" ever since 2005's Batman Begin's teased that the Joker would return. Plus this is Health Ledger's final completed movie and I hear he even tops Jack Nickelson as the Joker. To miss this one would be a shame.

    'Hellboy II: The Golden Army'
Ron Perlman in 2004's Hellboy was simply a smashing good time. The humor was right on target and the movie should of done better than it did. Now Perlman returns to once again fight evil and this time he gets the offer to join the evil. If your a fan of good humor and special effects then don't miss this one.

'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull'
I loved the previous three Indy movies and am excited to go see this one. Hopefully this weekend but ignorant people have already seen it and have begun trashing it because simply put they didn't understand the story. I saw one review that said how it had aliens and the Maya Indian's and how the older Indy movies made the artifacts he was chasing seem more real. Well the Skulls ARE real you fool and if you didn't watch TMZ all the time you would understand how the aliens and Maya Indian's fit into this whole story with the Skulls. Some people just need to be shot!
Go see this one folk's, it won't disappoint!

    'Iron Man'
The first big hit of the summer and it was a blockbuster of an opening. It has already pulled in over 250 million and climbing. I went and seen this as soon as it came out and casting Robert Downey Jr., as Tony Stark was pure genius.
The film has the right amount of comedy and just touches on some love story stuff for the ladies. A must see!!!!!

    COMEDY

    'Hancock'
Finally a superhero that just don't care. Will Smith plays as Hancock. A bum who has superpowers but could care less and nobody likes him. The clips I have seen look very funny and opening on July 2ND should make you skip the fireworks and head to the movies.

    'Get Smart'
I grew up watching the original Get Smart television show and liked it alot. Steve Carell is quite funny and a excellent choice for Maxwell Smart. Dwayne Johnson should be able to play off Carell perfectly. Sadly younger fans won't even know who any of these characters are so just let them go do their thing and you go enjoy the movie. On the plus factor Terence Stamp will certainly give great villainy as KAOS head Siegfried -- who's bent, of course, on ruling the world and most of you will remember him from the role of General Zod from Superman 2.

    'The Love Guru'
Mike Meyers latest attempt to hit it big again after Austin Powers. This has some potential but I'm not sure if it will have the Austin Powers..well...Power. Check it out for Mike Meyers comedic acting if anything.

'You Don't Mess With the Zohan'
I wasn't sold on this when I first saw the trailer but as time went on it has grown on me big time. This looks like Adam Sandler has returned to doing what he does best...Comedy. I think this will be a good movie and will do well.

    'Step Brothers'
Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, the co-stars of "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby." team up again in this funny looking movie. Will Ferrell plays Brennan Huff who is 39 years old and still lives with Mom. Then Mom gets married again, to a guy whose 40-year-old son, Dale Doback who is John C. Reilly, still lives with him. Now how do their utterly clueless, totally self-involved offspring learn to live together as "Step Brothers"? Will is the most successful cast member of SNL of his time and this movie should be one of his better ones.

And now for a couple of "stay aways"

    'What Happens in Vegas'
Leave this one in Vegas, it has already been dropping fast in the box office charts and Ashton Kutcher is box office poison. Wanna waste your eight bucks on this go ahead but don't cry when you have that empty feeling leaving the theater.

    'Made of Honor'
First off this crap don't happen in real life and if it did, if a girl actually asked her best male friend to be her made of honor then you need to call it quits and move on pal. Makes me wonder if that the bride to be was such a witch that she had no female friends?

    To Be Continued............
