Probably Uncalled For...

Why Talk Radio Was Invented. Hosted by author/syndicated columnist Dr. Thomas Keister and "The Internet Legend," ppdingles, the show takes an often cynical look at the best, the worst, and the least damn surprising of the week you're amazed you've only made it halfway through. Current events, politics, entertainment, pop culture, we discuss all the crap getting beamed into space to state the case we're an intelligent species. Yeah...we're boned...

Shenanigans at the World Beer Cup...shenanigans, I say!!!

I was shocked...stunned...perhaps even a little nauseous when I saw the results of the recent 2008 World Beer Cup. The biennial brew competition awards the standard Gold-Silver-Bronze medals to the best of the best in a huge variety of categories.

The category that caught me off-guard, the one that started sounding all sorts of alarm bells had to be the American-style light lager. Pabst took home the Gold and Silver medals, respectively, for their Old Milwaukee Light and Lone Star Light while Anheuser-Busch has to settle for the Bronze with Natural Light.

What the hell? I don't want to make any wild accusations or anything, but a moment like this lead me to wonder if there isn't possibly some massive chemical abuse going down in the judges pool. Nothing hardcore, mind you, maybe just a fat baggie and a few shrooms here and there might be to blame for this absolute travesty.

Gold Medal?!? Not in this or any other hellish existence

    Old Milwuakee Light
?!? Are you f**king serious? Old Milwaukee Light is a gold medal example of marketing cheap beer-colored crap on rednecks, binge drinkers, and winos with four bucks loose change. It's an affront to any and all manners of taste. I am going on record as saying I would rather drink a flat zima (stubbed out cigarette in the bottle optional).

As a matter of fairness, I know absolutely nothing at all about Lone Star Light, so I will simply congratulate Pabst Brewing Company for their Silver Medal triumph.

It may have won a Silver Medal, but it probably sucks, too. Kudos, I guess.

Natural Light? Even Anheuser-Busch's founder's great-great-what-the-hell-ever kid got laughed at for drinking Natural Light. Aside from wondering about shroom-induced hallucinations impairing the judging process, I now have to speculate as to how many utter pussies are on the judges panel at the World Beer Cup.

Bronze Medal? Come on, all the other beers laugh and point at you...

For a complete list of the 2008 World Beer Cup winners, go to:
    http://www.beertown.org/events/wbc/winners_list/winners_2008.html

Take their picks for whatever the hell you think they are worth. Then again, even if you are checking out Probably Uncalled For, if it is under the influence of Old Milwaukee Light, then much like the World Beer Cup, what you think isn't worth a whole hell of a lot.
