Probably Uncalled For...

Why Talk Radio Was Invented. Hosted by author/syndicated columnist Dr. Thomas Keister and "The Internet Legend," ppdingles, the show takes an often cynical look at the best, the worst, and the least damn surprising of the week you're amazed you've only made it halfway through. Current events, politics, entertainment, pop culture, we discuss all the crap getting beamed into space to state the case we're an intelligent species. Yeah...we're boned...

Let's all remember Britain as she was...not as she, ahem...is...

Man, what a sad day for us here at the show. We all have a deep sense or reverence for history (ppdingles, for example, is a Life Member of the History Channel Club), and Britain's always held a high place with us. How could you not like a society that produced Monty Python, Blackadder, and The Young Ones, just to name a few?

Even in the face of all the rich history and what-not, it has been apparent the country has been on an illogical quest to to self-parody. First, it was coming within a few steps or so of becoming exactly what Orwell wrote of in 1984, then it was unloosing whatever in the hell Amy Winehouse is upon us here across the pond, and now, the utter and total defeat of the once-mighty British Navy by the pirates.

Yep. We know what you are thinking. Should have put a few bucks down on the pirates, just in case, but who sees this happening, really? I mean, not that it isn't funny enough already, the concept of pirates sailing the high seas in 2008, but that the British Navy would refuse to engage them?

You heard that right. Under orders from the Foreign Office, the Navy is no longer allowed to detain pirates, as it may violate their human rights. The example used was Somalia, where returning pirates could face having a hand cut off for stealing, or being beheaded for murder. There is also a fear that pirates could claim asylum in Britain.

You have got to be kidding us. Is this what the United Kingdom has been reduced to? We find it hard to disagree with what John Bradshaw Layfield said at the beginning of WWE Monday Night Raw last night. If a pirate claims asylum, deny it. How much easier can we make it for you without employing flash cards? More to the point, who gives a crap about a pirate getting a hand cut off, or beheaded? If they were so worried about their human rights, maybe they should not have become pirates in the first place, even if the entire nation of Britain fears them. Even the French whip a** and take names when it comes to taking out pirates. The French, Britain...are you listening here, Britain?

The pirates defeated the British Navy, and by forfeit. Never thought it would come to this, but we here at Probably Uncalled For have seen fit no other option than to officially declare Britain "3rd World Stupid." Sure, they will probably get all sh**ty with us over this, but there is a bright side. At least now the third world has a little class, and television we can all understand.
