Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama K.J. Swint had spent his early years listening to the vivid stories of his great grandmother, a prominent house sitter during the early 1930s. He vividly remembers listening to the great stories told by her and her elderly friends. Ever since his earliest days, he loved the idea of story telling and rekindling the stories into his own. K.J. grew up in what is known as Avondale Housing Projects in Birmingham Alabama. Here is where his thoughts of writing began. Although his surroundings were of violence and tragedy, he managed to "milk the love" from it all. K.J. lost his mother to Lupus at the age of 6. At this point of his life, his great grandmother took over and began to raise him. Upon her doing so, she was later struck with stomach cancer and sadly passed away when he was only 16. With all hope seeming to have left and nowhere to turn, K.J. turned to pen and paper for comfort. "Writing about what I missed so much ( unconditional love) gave my heart and mind tranquility", he recalls. K.J. finished college at the University of Montevallo with a Bachelors degree in Business Management. He decided to begin his career in banking. "My mind was thinking banking, but my heart was screaming write", he states. Although he has yet to become published, he still pushes forward to accomplishing that one dream that he set his heart and eyes upon on those long and dreary days during his teenage years...to become a published author. K.J. is now working on his first book- The Love Writings which is due to be completed mid 2010. "K.J.'s love of poetry and play on words is ingenious", said one loyal reader of his blog, "Once you read one, you have to read it again and then again and each time you do this, a different sensation arrives due to the intensity of the language of love he creates".
