‘This All Started Out as a Hobby,’ BlogTalkRadio’s Andy ‘The Chicken Whisperer’ Says in Wall Street Journal Cover Story

Is isn’t often that The Wall Street Journal runs page-one stories about people who make a living off the pet-poultry market. Then again, these aren’t normal times.

So the financial paper of record does indeed sport such a feature today, complete with comments from BlogTalkRadio’s own Andy “The Chicken Whisperer” Schneider, host of Backyard Poultry.

“Andy G. Schneider of Alpharetta, Ga., who calls himself the Chicken Whisperer, hosts a daily hour-long Internet radio show on raising backyard chickens that attracts around 15,000 listeners nationwide a month, according to BlogTalkRadio,” The Journal reports in its story headlined “Fowl Fans See Golden Eggs in Catering to Pet-Chicken Market.”He sells Chicken Whisperer gear off his website, including T-shirts, watches, mugs, mouse pads and bumper stickers. ‘This all started out of a hobby,’ says Mr. Schneider, a former paramedic whose current line of work has been a full-time job since April 2009,” the paper continues.
