The organizations Respect and justice For Puerto Rico from New York, and Mision Boricua from Florida got together this past weekend for a historic Symposium on Puerto Rico. Panels discussed the Jones act and other imporant subject matter pertaining to Puerto Rico and the difficulties experienced by the Island as a whole, as a result of the Jones act. This important event was highligther by a Caravan to Jacksonville, the city where ships have to unload the merchandise and re-load it into American ships with an American crew, in order to then ship to Puerto Rico. This practice alone, sucks  billions out of  the Puerto Rican economy which then is forced to pass it down to the Puerto Rican Consumer. Many Puerto Rican notables attended and Attorney Nelson Denis will be here to enighten us on the event of which he was a participant.
