" Homesteading has its challenges at the best of times. Doing in on a half-acre surrounded by hills, rocks trees and ravines can be a nightmare.  
 After declaring bankruptcy Mr. and MrsVolfie had to rethink their living strategy. When, in 2007, a half-acre, with a falling down camp style house came on the market they saw their chance. The first two years were spent making the home livable. The last three years have been spent doing their best to make it as self-sustainable as possible. 
Maintaining chickens, goats, bees, maple trees, seasonal pigs and the occasional steer can be exhausting. But thanks to rotating seasonal livestock, Creative planting and leaving the grass and weeds grow for the Bees and medicinal weeds..It can be very rewarding! Welcome aboard!"
