LilManMLis doing a little better. He is no longer coughing up blood but hisvocal cords are still paralyzed & he can’t swallow. They had toinsert a feeding tube which he’s not too happy about nor is he aboutnot being able to talk but otherwise he’s healing well from his openheart surgery 2 wks ago in CA. Please continue to keep him in ourprayers that God will use the drs in Atlanta as His instruments as Hedid w/ the heart surgeons in CA to diagnose the cause of his recentproblems.

**Pleasecontinue to pray for Annie, her sister & niece** Shortly after Iemailed you the progress of my sister on Sunday, she started on a rapiddownhill slide. Early afternoon, on Sunday, she suffered a heartattack and is now back in ICU, sedated and on a respirator. Thehospital is doing a full cardiac workup this morning (Tuesday) alongwith some neurological testing as there is some apparent neurologicaldamage as well (she couldn’t remember how many children she has, nameof her husband – she’s been married 30 yrs – in fact, said she wasn’tmarried). I don’t know how soon we’ll know anything and can only praythat any damage is not life threatening. Her poor body has beenthrough so much, end stage liver disease is not pretty and she was avery sick girl when they did the liver transplant last Monday. Thankyou all for your prayers! 9/29-MikeShaw doesn't have a blockage. He has a fungal infection in his blood.They're giving him blood to boost his count . He is dehydrated fromvomiting and diarrhea. Hopefully, they'll be able to treat it. He haslost a lot of weight. Please keep him in your prayers, Jim

Weneed to put Mike Shaw back on the prayer list. He was at the CancerCenter Friday morning and they sent him to Baptist East and he's inIntensive Care. His blood count is extremely low and he has ablockage which they think might be cancer in addition to what healready has. He had been home for some time since his last bout. He'snow staying with his mom who is caring for him. Please pray for healingfor Mike and for help for his mom, Mike's caregiver. Thanks Jim

Iam writing this to ask you all for your prayers. I went to the Dr lastweek for a few reasons, one was severe swelling in my legs and feet andjust overall didn't feel good. Well the heart doc said it wasn't myheart since all the tests came back fine, then she said she wanted meto get an ultra-sound of my thyroid that it looked swollen. I had theultra-sound last Friday and found out that I have a nodule (tumor) onmy thyroid gland. I was told I could wait 6 months and have theultra-sound again or a needle biopsy. I have decided against either ofthe two choices. I am supposed to go see an endocrinologist inTupelo and am going to ask that he remove my thyroid gland altogether,cancerous or not, I am not willing to have the nodule removed and thenin 6 months to a year another one pop up. So I ask that you keep me inyour thoughts and prayers. Take care and I hope to have good newssoon. Nicki

9/30-Ronda isscheduled to have her vent removed tomorrow morning in the OR. If shecannot breath on her own, the will trach her. Please pray that she isable to breath on her own and does not require a trach! Thanks for allof your prayers, love and support! Audrey

10/2-Ronda went to the OR and had the vent tube removed. She did well atfirst, but after about 2 - 3 hours her carbon dioxide levels began torise. She had to be intubated again. She could not receive thetracheotomy because the ENT Dr had already left, since she was doing sowell at first. After she was intubated again, she had a seizure so aneurological Dr was consulted. It is possible that the seizure wasrelated to the rise and rapid fall of the carbon dioxide levels in herbody. We spoke with her regular Dr last night and he believes that thenext step is a tracheotomy. He also said that he believes that she willhave the trach long term and will need to go to a step down facilityfrom the hosp ital. Thanks for all of the prayers and please keeppraying. Audrey

Theventilator tube was not put back in properly and needed to bere-inserted during the night.......again! This is causing big set backsfor Ronda, not to mention much discomfort. Her body has had so muchtrauma over the past 24 hours, that she is now being treated as atrauma patient.

Juliehad her surgery Friday and she did really well over the weekend. Ofcourse she's pretty sore, but that was to be expected. I wasfinally able to talk to her today and she said they are testing thetissue to be certain no cancer is present, but at first sight, herdoctor thought it looked benign. Praise God!! Please continue to keepher in your prayers and I'll send an update once I know the outcome ofthe thyroid tissue. Thank you so much for your prayers! Gwen

Justto let you know that Phil is in the hospital in Chicago. He was doingwell, better than the last few months. Monday morning Jesse found himon the floor and could not get him up. He has an urinary tractinfection, into the stomach and they think a blood clot in the lung andhaving difficulty breathing. They have him on antibiotics, plasma andan oxygen mask. He is alert and joking with the nurses telling themhow to live a long life - "Keep breathing ." He is also testing out hisnew memory trick he memorized last week on everybody. He hasdifficulty talking but I spoke to him last night and got a weakanswer. He has been through very serious infections before. We willhave to wait on the Lord to see if He will heal this time. Update-Almostready to send this and just got a call from another daughter. Thedoctor was just in to see him and said "He has turned the corner". Assoon as they can get him off the oxygen and glucose drip he will beable to go to a regular room. It should be another two weeks before hewill be able to fly back to CA. Manyof you know that Ken and Teresa Longs son - Ken Jr. has overdosed onsome very serious prescription drugs. He is in an induced coma and on arespirator at CMC in Charlotte. He is in critical condition with just10% of his lungs working. The next 24 hours is going to determine alot. As pastor I need you to pray and to continue to pray for thisyoung man recovery. As you go throughout the day, just say a simpleprayer, like "Lord, remember Ken Jr." or "do a miracle Lord for KenJr." But it is important that you pray constantly on Ken's behalfbefore the Lord. Ken & Teresa have requested that we as theirfriends establish a prayer chain.
