Join us for our monthly forum that takes place two Wednesdays Per Month.  June 11, 2014,  David Cantor will speak on animalism...a new understanding of cruelty to animals addressing the cause of cruelty instead of the behavior itself.  Cantor not only sees the animals as beings with souls, but us as spiritual beings.

 Cantor writes:

In nature there are no "higher" or "lower" animals, just an infinitely vast and intricate web of life.  But for many thousands of years, humans have rationalized their enslavement and abuse of other animals with humanist ideologies like "the great chain of being."  Humanism generates mysogyny, racism, and other causes of misery from violence, war, genocide, poverty, disease, pollution, and, now, global heating.  Ideologies must always be suspect, but a new one that debunks humanism is needed to put our species on a new trajectory that preserves life and gives all animals, including humans, the best possible chance at a fulfilling life.  The new animalism could be that new way of thinking."
