For as far back as I can remember I have always had an awareness of energy, spirit and what people were saying at a core level. I had a very strong affinity with spirituality from the time I was little. I knew about reincarnation before I ever heard the word.
My mother was always in search of God in different religions and my dad was an atheist. I totally believed in a higher power but was looking for a religion that fitted with what I just knew from birth. When I found Nichiren Daishonin Buddhism I found the first thing that almost fit what I always knew to be true. I practiced this active form of Buddhism for just over 20 years. During this time of practicing Buddhism my awareness was expanding beyond belief and I was looking for support. I dove into my practice and spent a minimum of 6 hours a day chanting and connecting to life force energy for 9 months looking for what was out there to support me. It took me 9 months to get enough information from Spirit to get on a plane to Lake Tahoe to find Native American Teachers. In Lake Tahoe I found a group of teachers and healers led by a Tewa/Apache Medicine Man that had traveled the world learning and sharing information with Medicine Men from around the world. I also met and worked with a shapeshifting Toltec Elder and a Cherokee Elder. Two years later I started training with the Oglala Medicine Man from Pine Ridge and an Ojibwa Medicine Woman in Canada, while still continuing my training with the Native Elders living in Lake Tahoe. While working with the Oglala Medicine Man I was guided to train with Tom Brown, Jr. who was trained by a Lipan Apache Medicine Man, Grandfather. The Lipan Apache are a tribe that were truly nomadic and were not captured by the white man. Their teachings and knowledge were not muddied or clouded.
