The Revolutionary Sistas of the Diaspora is a group of Black and Brown Sistas coming together to discuss topical issues of race, social & economic justice, gender equality and everything in between. 

There is a disturbing trend in our society of blaming the victim in domestic abuse cases – even to the point of prosecuting those who are defending themselves. Join us for an in-depth conversation with two women who have been on the front lines. 

Marissa Alexander is the founder of the Marissa Alexander Justice Project (MAJP) which promotes unity through the social justice, criminal reform, and anti-domestic violence movements. Marissa gained notoriety when she was sentenced to prison for firing a warning shot after being attacked by her estranged husband.

Dr. Juandalyn Peters is a psychiatrist specializing in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry. She helps in treating trauma from physical or sexual abuse, domestic violence or traumatic loss of a loved one.
