When we hear or read the story of Lot’s wife in Genesis 19, we may sometimes find ourselves criticizing, questioning, or being self-righteous in terms of not desiring to understand why this woman did not obey the Angels’ command, "Don't Look Back!.”
Have you ever wondered what Lot's Wife was looking back at? Was she leaving a secret love? Perhaps she was thinking of her children and grandchildren who were behind. Maybe Lot's Wife looked back because she was leaving close friends, a house she dearly loved, or everything she and Lot worked so hard to build! We don’t really know her thoughts and can sit here for days arguing what we believe to be true. However, there is one thing we know for sure, LOT'S WIFE LOOKED BACK!!
What happens when we look back on things God tells us to let go of and move forward? What happens when although we appear to be moving, our hearts holds us hostage to people, places, or things of our past? Are we really any different from Lot's Wife? Do You often find yourself looking back although God said, "Looking Back will only Stop You from Moving Forward!"
