Positively Autistic: The Autism & Homeschooling Journey

Welcome! As we approach Christmas and are getting together for the holidays with family and friends, how do you handle those typical difficulties and questions about your child's autism  - The "odd" behaviors from your child, the special diets, the sensory overload? The questioning of "Why is he/she like that? "Why do they do that?" "How do you handle it?" 
Then of course add in homeschooling and you get these questions too:
"Are you sure you can teach him?" "How can you handle it all day long?" "Wouldn't it be easier to put them in school?" "How are you going to teach high school subjects?" "How are you going to teach her to be independent?"

I will provide some special answers to those endless questions, that hopefully will quiet them until next year :-)
