Debra and Linda, hosts of Positively Autistic: Celebrate Autism Radio, are attending the Association of Regional Center's (ARCA) Annual New Day Conference. The New Day Conference features experts in the field in the subject of employment and transition for people with developmental disabilities. We will be featuring special guests Eileen Richy, Executive Director of ARCA and Dr. Peter Gerhardt, Director of the McCarton School. We will speak with enterprising young adults who have their own businesses called micro-enterprises and experts in the field. Brent Anderson, Linda's son, who inspired the book "Unintentional Humor: Celebrating the Literal Mind" will be one of the people we speak to as well as his Regional Center service coordinator, Larry Rice. Learn why there has been a long-term decline in employment for people with developmental disabilities since the 1980's and learn innovative ways people are making a living.
