Men’s Health and what you can do to assure your in tip top shape as we approach June,  Men’s Health Month, are high lighted tonight when Scott Cluthe talks with  Dr. Sudhen Desai, the Medical Director of the Vascular Access Center of Houston. They are joined by Rebecca Zwakenberg, the Physician Liaison. Also for Houston area listeners, Free Exams in June!  More info below.

Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) affects nearly 12 million people in the United States. This disease exponentially increases a patient’s risk of heart attack and/or stroke. Yet, 40% of these patients show no apparent signs of this disease. Early detection depends upon a physician’s ability to identify symptoms and risk factors.

PAD is a serious, yet treatable, disease. Proper treatment may slow down and even halt progression of the disease, while also reducing the risk of patients developing other devastating health complications, such as heart attack and stroke. If untreated, PAD may lead to a dramatic decline in quality of life, limb amputation, or even death.

If you are a listener in the Houston area, here’s a great opportunity for Free screenings also!

Vascular Access Center (VAC) of Houston will be providing free health screenings and consultations throughout June, in celebration of National Men’s Health Month.
