Scott Cluthe interviews Why Worry ? author Kathryn Tristan on the day of her new book launch nationally. Tonight's show includes the Top Ten Holiday Stress Busters!

About Why Worry? the book: We all worry. It’s a natural part of living. A biologically built-in mechanism, worry was designed to help us. Where do we go wrong? For millions worldwide, worries are eating away at our sense of security, our feelings of well-being and ultimately downsizing our happiness while supersizing our stress. We are worried about our jobs, our families, our relationships, just about everything.

Worry has become a global epidemic. The new book Why Worry? by scientist and ex-anxiety sufferer Kathryn Tristan tackles this problem head on and provides simple, effective, battle-tested solutions that really work.

Kathryn Tristan, author of more than 250 articles in scientific and lay publications and an international traveler, used to be a chronic worrier. She developed severe anxiety and couldn’t leave her home town for more than 20 years. She also trembled at having to cross bridges or ride elevators. She read most books on the subject, studied the scientific literature, and took medications hoping to find the answer that would cure her, but nothing seemed to work.

Finally, she discovered how to turn her life around. It was so simple, so elegant and so practical. Anyone could do the same. Now in Why Worry? she shares the secrets of her success, describes new science that shows how we can retrain our brains, and provides easy, yet powerful tools and strategies.
