  • Titus 2 Tuesday with Keva Renee & FURTESHA CARTER

    in Politics

Titus 2 Tuesday Welcomes Back FURTESHA CARTER for Metro Council 13 in Nashville, TN Get to know Furtesha Carter… Furtesha Carter is a true “Nashvillian” born and raised. Growing up in Nashville allowed her to inherit a unique appreciation for southern hospitality. Furtesha quotes, “Without God, family and friends what do you have in life? In my world, those are my three focuses.”Whether it be in real estate or volunteer programs, she finds great joy in using the talents God has provided her in order to help people. Furtesha is the proud parent of a teenage daughter and son and is called Momma to many teenagers through Nashville’s Communityfoster care system. She is the founder of a non-profit mentoring program, Sister 2 Sistah that caters to middle-school age girls throughout the Nashville and surrounding communities. Because the majority of her family resides within the Nashville area, Furtesha has been allowed to spend spring/summers barbecuing and fall/winters entertaining in her home with family and friends which she truly enjoys. Furtesha attended Daymar Institute for Accounting and is attending Bethel University for Business Management. Her skill set has provided her vocational opportunities from church secretary to accountant. Her personality has allowed her to be an affective cheerleading coach, PTO president, and community volunteer. But her passion to connect community and family drives her efforts to serve as your metro council representative for District 13. • The Real Side

    in Politics

Click here to chat with us during the LIVE show broadcast!
Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately? There are always at least two sides to every story. Have you ever wondered how someone, who saw the same thing you did, walked away telling a vastly different story? Which version was correct? Which one was the REAL story? Actually, both are! It’s just a matter of perspective. Joe takes the issues… especially the controversial issues (politics, prejudice, religion, illegal immigration)… and brings in people from different sides to share their viewpoint. This is definitely not a fluff piece. And while no one is attacked, the questions are hard-hitting. But the conversation is always respectful and you’re sure to learn something new, even if you don’t agree!

    in Politics Progressive

Host Dr. Rev. Rodney Sadler discusses Politics of Faith including progressive politics, American politics, culture, demographics, social justice, economic justice,  history, society, social change,  community action, community organization, and more!
Rev. Sadler is joined by Sam Wazan. Sam Wazan is the author of "The Last Moderate Muslim". Sam Wazan is a fifteen-year combat-zone survivor. He is an inspirational speaker, a grassroots catalyst for peace, and Global Trustee at United Religions Initiative. He is also a Senior Management Consultant helping multi-national organizations achieve breakthrough solutions and innovations. Wazan has an authentic experience in the inhumane effects of conflicts. In his Key Note speech: Ending Religious Violence: The Journey to Peace, he reflects on his first year of war, when his best friend in fifth grade got killed. He grew up surrounded by remorseless sniper fire, indiscriminate rocket attacks, and vicious religious massacres. He escaped a kidnap attempt, lived under a ninety-day siege, and took shelter alternating between the stairways and a garage depot, depending on the intensity of battles.
In 2009, Wazan resigned from a prestigious corporate position. His searing drive to catalyze peace led him to write his personally inspired story and thrust him into public speaking. Wazan is in high demand. He is a Key Note speaker at universities, corporations, and nonprofit organizations speaking on Limited Choices & High Stakes: Breaking through a Lesser Normal. He inspires audience members to embrace change, love life, and move from a continuous improvement frame of mind to achieving mental breakthroughs.

About Politics

A taboo topic for the dinner table and social gatherings, politics both unite and divide our world. Especially every four years. BlogTalkRadio's Election coverage is vast, varied and accurate: We know it's not always the pundits with the best insight on today's political climate; our hosts represent the voice of the people, by the people, for the people. Whether you fall on the Conservative end of the spectrum, the Progressive, are moderate or somewhere on the many shades in between, you'll find plenty of commiseration with those who share your views, some of which are famous dignitaries like Michelle Obama and Kofi Annan, or famous actors, authors, news reporters, TV personalities, even comedians. The best part? If you've got something to say, you can start your own show! Go on, hop up on that soapbox and have at it – speak your mind, rant, rave and filibuster to your heart's content.
