Join us this week as we welcome the rock band, The Last Year. Hailing from Baltimore, MD., The Last Year is an alternative rock band. The act stems from an idea of front-girl Niki Barr, on vocals, and Scott Ensign, playing bass and synth. The pair, complemented by drummer, BJ Kerwin, and guitarist, Scott Griffith, approach their music with a kaleidoscopic attitude, embracing diverse influences and refusing to give in to conventions. The Last Year recently teamed up with Shanachie Entertainment in order to release a self titled EP of new material. Currently their single "Sugar" is at Alternative radio and their video is in all Six Flags America Theme parks throughout the country. Working with The AFE and USO on many tours, Niki Barr has visited thirty three countries on four continents in support of our deployed troops. In addition she has dedicated visits to Ranstein and Walter Reed. We will talk to them about their upcoming schedule, get a behind the scenes look at their music, feature their latest songs, and ask them to share their message for the troops. Please be sure to visit The Last Year at http://thelastyear.net/ and spread the word. Fans are welcome to call in and speak live with with them during the show (718) 766-4193 If you would like to participate in the live chat during the show, you must sign up on the show site first and then log in during the show. Join us this week as we welcome the rock band, Madrone. Hailing from Roanoke, VA., band members John "JD" Sutphin - vocals/guitar, Blaine Davis - Bass Guitar, Joey Coleman - Drums, and Dana Cox - Guitar, Madrone is ethereal, with a sound that emanates strong melodies that are supported by slamming catchy drum beats and modern, almost industrial bass lines. Literally born into music, as the grandson of the late prominent bluegrass and country artist Jim Freeman, Sutphin has always had the desire to create and perform music in his veins. Their hit single “November” best depicts the band’s range with Sutphin describing it as “everything we do as a band. From the ethereal lead and synth lines, to heavy guitars and subject matter very close to my heart, it's everything I ever wanted in a Madrone song.” “November” is just one of many of the masterpieces created by Madrone in the past decade. The group has spent nine years writing and recording two full length albums and two EPs and have just released their latest album "A Light in the Sky" which is available now on iTunes and other major media outlets. We will talk to them about their upcoming schedule, get a behind the scenes look at their music, feature their latest songs, and ask them to share their message for the troops. Please be sure to visit Madrone at http://madroneonline.com/ and spread the word. Fans are welcome to call in and speak live with with them during the show (718) 766-4193 If you would like to participate in the live chat during the show, you must sign up on the show site first and then log in during the show. A taboo topic for the dinner table and social gatherings, politics both unite and divide our world. Especially every four years. BlogTalkRadio's Election coverage is vast, varied and accurate: We know it's not always the pundits with the best insight on today's political climate; our hosts represent the voice of the people, by the people, for the people. Whether you fall on the Conservative end of the spectrum, the Progressive, are moderate or somewhere on the many shades in between, you'll find plenty of commiseration with those who share your views, some of which are famous dignitaries like Michelle Obama and Kofi Annan, or famous actors, authors, news reporters, TV personalities, even comedians. The best part? If you've got something to say, you can start your own show! Go on, hop up on that soapbox and have at it – speak your mind, rant, rave and filibuster to your heart's content.
