A collection of interesting news and commentary pieces I've come across this week, as well as some useful information and recommendations. See Program Notes at my blog, posted about one hour before showtime, for all the stories, etc., that I plan to discuss.
MVM brings you the hard hitting stories no one dare reports. Combined with fact and opinion, Ed Springston tells it like it is and holds nothing back. Ed has led the way in gaining accountability in elected leaders. His single handed efforts have resulted in multiple charges and ousting of elected officials. Mainstream media, Louisville and Kentucky attorneys, all subscribe to Ed’s RSS feed. You should join the thousands of others who do as well.

There's no better time than now in the midst of class struggle in the United States and the around the world to review the classic pamaphlet, The Commonist Manifesto, by Karl Marx and Frederick Engles. If you have never read it, there's no way that you really can undertand the contributions Marx and Engles made to the birth of left movements and revolutions worldwide. If you're a member of the working class, a student, a journalist, an activist, etc, you owe it to yourself to read the Communist Manifesto. Here's a link to a PDF version of the pamaphlet.
If you get a chance to read it, or if you have read it before, we encourage you to call in with your questions and feedback.
Also, if you're a frequent listener to our show, we really would like you to follow us here on BlogTalk. Our followers will be get brief show notes after each new show. Thank you for being a listener.
The House Republicans and Trump team have been working all night to tweak their terrible healthcare bill to get it through a floor vote tonight. But it's really tough to come up with a plan that will please both ultra-conservative "Freedom Caucus" members AND representatives from states whose constitutents are covered by the current Obamacare plans. We don't think it can be done, but Spicey says the Trump White House has "no Plan B." So tonight is going to be interesting - not that anything that has occurred in the political arena has been dull: The revelations about the Trump campaign and Russia (and what House Intelligence Chair Devin Nunes did yesterday!) dwarf the capers on series like The Americans... and the Gorsuch hearings to fill the stolen seat on the Supreme Court have had all the drama of an episode of Law and Order. MOMocrats Karoli, Aliza Worthington and Donna Schwartz Mills discuss the week's political news from a progressive point of view. An Engender Media Group production.

Well citizens, Spring is here...allegedly. Welcome to the latest chapter of Afronerd Radio's Mid Week in Review podcast, airing this Wednesday at 7:30pm EST. Join your hosts, Dburt and Capt. Kirk as they place focus on the following (mid) week topics: Rock & Roll icon and pioneer, Check Berry passes at 90; BLM activist/former San Francsico 49ers' QB/free agent, Colin Kaepernick apparently is not getting picked up by any other NFL teams and his friend Spike Lee believes that politics may be the reason for the cool reception; tech billionaire/Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg pays a visit to noted HBCU, North Carolina A & T State University to discuss diversity (in spite of the fact that FB has 145 Black employees out of 8,000...charity begins at home); a recent Black Voices piece asserts that African-American Millennials are optimistic in the face of current racial animus and/or oppression; and in "more evidence that Armageddon is real thing" news, a Mass. college student-athlete is facing charges for attacking a visiting team player for wearing braids on the basis of cultural appropriation vs. Black and Brown grade school robotics competitors being told to go "back to Mexico" (just wow); conservative pundit, Tomi Lahren, gets suspended from her Blaze gig over her diverging pro-choice diatribe during her recent visit to the View; singer/actor, Tyrese Gibson causes a stir on the interwebs not only over the skin tone of his new wife but also his critique of Black women and lastly, a White Brooklyn artist has reportedly caused such a controversy with her painting of Emmett Till, entitled Open Casket that the term Whitepeopleing appears to be gaining traction (huh?). Call the hosts live at 646-915-9620.
A taboo topic for the dinner table and social gatherings, politics both unite and divide our world. Especially every four years. BlogTalkRadio's Election coverage is vast, varied and accurate: We know it's not always the pundits with the best insight on today's political climate; our hosts represent the voice of the people, by the people, for the people. Whether you fall on the Conservative end of the spectrum, the Progressive, are moderate or somewhere on the many shades in between, you'll find plenty of commiseration with those who share your views, some of which are famous dignitaries like Michelle Obama and Kofi Annan, or famous actors, authors, news reporters, TV personalities, even comedians. The best part? If you've got something to say, you can start your own show! Go on, hop up on that soapbox and have at it – speak your mind, rant, rave and filibuster to your heart's content.
