This week we saw two horrific acts of violence committed by active shooters, one in a mall in Oregon, and one in an elementary school in Connecticut.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents and other family and friends who lost a child or a loved one in these senseless attacks.  As public safety professionals, out thoughts are with our brothers and sisters, who themselves are affected by responding to such a overwhelmingly horrible scene. These two shootings will undoubtedly spark yet another emotional debate on American’s Second Amendment Rights. The Semi-Automatic weapons involved in both of these tragedies, were used by mentally ill shooters, people who undoubtedly displayed signs of that illness long before they committed these horrific fines. A debate on the issue of firearms ownership in this country must be accompanied by an equally strong debate on the mental health issues country. Taking firearms away from honest citizens will result in only criminals and mentally unstable persons possessing those weapons for evil purposes, or resorting to other means by which they can commit their evil deeds!  What do you think? Join Jimmy and Bernie this Saturday December 15th at 2:00PM EDT for the next edition of Let’s Talk Justice America,on the Blog Talk Radio Network
