Pocono Preview: News, Activities & Events of the Poconos  

Last week, Carl Wilgus, the new executive director of the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau was my guest. We talked about his transition from Idaho, where he was the director of the State's tourism office, to the Poconos.

He's a 'hands-on' guy, making sure the visitor experience is consistent. He skied at most of the ski areas during January and February. Now, he is working on a plan to play golf at each of the 34 Pocono golf courses.

In between, he supervises the marketing and promotion of this resort area, located 2000 feet above sea level, roughly two hours west of New York and two hours northwest of Philadelphia.

Today, I'll be talking with Andrea Kimes, publisher of www.PoconoTalk.com and programmer for www.webleaps.com and internet marketing company based near Alpine Mountain ski area. Andrea will talk about a couple of her clients, including the Monroe County Red Cross.
