I consider myself a Common Sense Libertarian/Constitutionalist rather than Conservative, Liberal Progressive;  however, I can't be a Liberal Progressive Democrat because "I like spending the money I earn", and I can't be a Republican because "I like spending the money I earn on hookers and drugs!" (if you're not laughing or at least smiling at that statement you must be a NO sense-of-humor liberal progressive)   BUT.... If being "Conservative" means loving America(benefit of the doubt default), Mom(rest her soul), Apple Pie, (Leave It To Beaver(4 Life Values) and John Wayne(because he's FREAKIN' John Wayne..duh) then I guess I'm Conservative.
