Shawn's bio;
Been fish keeping since I was 19, so for about 25 years. I started with Midevils and Dempseys. Up until about 10 years ago I only had a hand full of tanks with my 135 gallon being the largest. Then I met an awesome fish keeper here in Washington at a LFS that showed me that there are a lot more Cichlids out there than Midevils. I started ordering fish from Rehoboth Aquatics in Texas, and then met Gage Brady at Cichlid Connection. Shortly after that I met Jeff Rapps, and the rest is history. I went from 6 tanks to 30 tanks, my largest being 406 gallons, in about 3 years. I got addicted and wanted everything. I read and studied and learned all that I could, so that I could be the best fish keeper around. I currently own around 30 different species of Cichlid, 20 different types of plecos, 5 different species of loaches and 11 different species of Bichir. My pride and joy are my 23”Costa Rican Blue Dovii, 13” male Amphilophus Hoga, 13” Amphilophus Labiatus, 12” Amphilophus sp ‘red isletas’, 12” Paratheraps Zonatus, 13.5” Paratheraps Hartwegi, 13” Paratheraps Bifasciatus, 12” Paratheraps Melanurus, my Peruvian and Ecuadorian Festae pairs. These have all been with me the longest. My goal is to either get set up to where I can raise and breed hundreds of different species and distribute them across the country, or open my own fish store. Some day when I am ready to retire.
