We love to get outdoors, camping, hiking, and biking. Roscoe joined our family in 2002 soon after Patrick & I married. We weren't looking for a dog, but a friend who had 2 other animals and a young toddler could not keep the rambunctious pup, so we brought him home and instantly fell in love with his spotted little face. Roscoe loves water, he can't even see a puddle without wanting to jump around in it.  When Roscoe was a puppy, Patrick took him for a walk behind our house in Virginia. That speckled pup came home muddy from head to paw, he jumped into the creek before Patrick knew it was happening. Since then our little fur kid has experienced many bodies of water in Virginia, Georgia, Texas, Alaska, Canada and now Washington. We're just lucky he lets us come along. We have made many moves due to Patrick's military service and Roscoe always make each one an adventure. He has also been a great comfort during Patrick's past two deployments. When Patrick's not at work, he loves to hop on his motorcycle to go exploring, weather permitting, it is Washington after all. Tina was bitten by the real estate bug while living in TX and has stayed in the real estate field in one form or another ever since. Since moving to Washington she has switched gears from Realtor to real estate investing, she's looking to buy single family homes or small multifamily properties nationwide. Dogs instinctively do things to protect their owners. So, when your dog senses that something is off or potentially unsafe about a person who enters your home, you should pay attention to the warning. The endless barking is your dog’s attempt to protect you. It doesn’t mean that you have to cut ties with that person completely. However, you may wish to limit the access they have to your home or only spend time with them in crowded public places. I spent the majority of my youth on a friend's horse ranch guiding trails and working with the horses. On the farm we also had a number of different dogs over time and numerous farm cats.   During my childhood she was always surrounded by pets.  My husband and I did not have children, we gravitated toward pets instead. I came into the marriage with a cat and our first dog together was a German Shepherd that we got from a breeder. We went to breeders not knowing about rescue.     After a number of moves around the US over the years we finally settled in Atlanta for nearly 8 years now. About 5 years ago I started volunteering with a local Humane Society. I helped at the shelter, with transports and running adoption events. While doing this I was receiving emails from various shelters showing dogs that were about to lose their lives. The Humane Society could not take all of them in of course, so I began working with a rescue in the NE by pulling and sending dogs up there if I couldn't find homes in GA. Then a friend asked to join me in rescue efforts and Angels Among Us Pet Rescue was formed. We are now the largest all volunteer rescue in the SE US. So now my personal dogs are Cole.  He was a GSD puppy that someone told me about. A family had purchased him at a rural flea market and put in a back yard where another pup had died a horrible death from parvo. He would have died from parvo as well so I paid them to let me take him. We decided to keep him. Liberty was a little rescue dog that a friend of mine saved when she was young. When Rosemarie passed away, the family didn't know what they were going to do with her, so I told them to bring her to me. She was a senior when we got her and it is just to hard to keep moving them, so we kept her as well.  00:15:00Pet Parents USAnoAngel Among Us Pet Rescue,a foster parent,Angel Mobile, rescuing pets from high kill shelters, pets are companionsI grew up as an only child to older parents in a small rural town in Southern Minnesota on a wildlife refuge. I absolutely love their unique personalities and quirky antics. It wasn’t long before one became two and two became four. Then in December 1999...there could be no more. We brought home a little Y2K bug with ECE and vowed to never buy another sickly, farm-bred, pet-store ferret. I nursed three older ferrets furiously for months and my vet and I learned much about ferrets during that time. In 2007 we buried our precious, beautiful “Christmas”. In 2008 we bought a house with ferrets in mind (at least in MY mind). After we settled in I began looking at private breeders. It wasn’t long before I came across a story about a breeder being investigated by PETA and they sent all their ferrets to auction. Well, there isn’t a great demand for dozens of breeder stock at auction and they wound up back in Texas with no place to go. An East Texas Rescue coordinated to save them, have them all checked out and...then fill the need to adopt out 76 ferrets. So we applied and were approved for four females. They are a handful, yet very special. We have now grown to a Texas six-pack (7 ferrets) and I love each and every one from the bottom of my heart. I cannot make it through a day without witnessing a ferret’s erratic display of uninhibited exuberance!  00:15:00Pet Parents USAnoTexas six pack are severn Ferrets, albino Ferret,a family of Ferrets,Ferret Rescue Groups, unique personalitiesMy husband and I have loved ferrets since we brought our first albino home in 1993. Before acquiring a Denver zip code, Amy Angelilli split her time between social responsibility marketing and animal welfare. Her public relations agency, smaart PR, specialized in social issues especially related to the environment. She also founded the all-volunteer People-Pet Partnership to bring the “No More Homeless Pets” movement to the City of Philadelphia. Amy has been featured in publications such as The Denver Post, Westword, Women’s Day, The Philadelphia Daily News, Philadelphia Weekly and The South Philadelphia Review. Occasionally she breaks away from her own litter boxes to assist cats abroad. In 2005 she created a first-time adoption event at Torre Argentina, a Roman cat sanctuary built on the ruins where Julius Caesar was assassinated.  When not covered in cat hair, she spends her time doing comedy improvisation and she also appears in the Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Dinner Show. 00:14:00Pet Parents USAnoNurse Nancy Presents, cat condoms to promote spay neuter,No More Homeless Pets, clinic for feral stray and tame cats,Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Dinner ShowAmy Angelilli has been the Executive Director of The Feline Fix, Colorado’s only high quality, high volume spay/neuter clinic for feral, stray and tame cats.
